Piuma is a writing tool we designed for FO – Forever Made in Italy on the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s death. The Ethergraf metal tip leaves a trace on paper without using ink or graphite and never ends.
The sleekly wooden stylus refers to the principles of aerodynamics, long studied by Leonardo to build a machine that could make man fly. Although he failed in his purpose, Leonardo made humanity fly into the future with his technical, artistic, and scientific discoveries. The specular signature becomes legible through the polished steel stand: a trick that shows his ironic and unconventional spirit.
